Well, as they say…
That’s a wrap, folks!
Eight months, 6 countries, 175 consecutive blog posts, friends, adventure, and just enough trouble to keep things interesting!
A big THANK YOU to our friends and family back home and around the world for following our daily updates over the past 6 months. It was a special treat for us to know that we had a small community following along and often cathartic to share and receive feedback on our experiences – both extraordinary and mundane – beyond our sphere of two.
I would be remiss to sign off without sharing a final thought on our travels; though, I do not want to fall into that sorry category of pedantic nomads that return to reality on a high horse. I’ll keep it short:
By far the most common comment we received over the past 8 months was, “I’m living vicariously through you!” And I often wanted to respond, “why on earth would you live vicariously through anybody?” So I say it now: This is your life. If you want an experience badly enough, then go chase it! Especially when a touch of financial discipline and a tad of courage is all it takes to have an adventure – whether for a weekend or a year! Don’t resign yourself to the life of a surrogate.
Peace and Love!
